The Church has always opposed progress in sexual reform. Scientists are continually cavilling at its reactionary influence. It is an appendage of the capitalist State which serves the purpose of doping the people with its promise of pie (in the next world, of course). Without religious opposition State birth control clinics, for instance, would be actualities in this country as in the Soviet Union. “Ecrasez l’infame,” cried Voltaire. Remove a system which needs this opiate and you destroy the obstacle.
The socialists and communists are fighting for eugenics, not against it.
